Referees

Referee Responsibilities

Center referees need to e-mail a game summary to Kristin Baldwin. Include the following details:

  • Center
  • AR1, AR2
  • Team Names (ex: BU-9 PR Raptors)
  • Scores
  • Any cards given
  • Significant injuries, and
  • Any special circumstances.

Remember, if any cards are issued, injuries or special circumstances occur, CYSF must be told. Issue a Misconduct Report (need link to document) and/or a Game Report for injuries or Special Circumstances (need link to document) and follow the faxing/mailing instructions.

If you are interested in becoming a referee or need to have a re-certification, here is a quick list of dates and places. NOTE: The most current and accurate list is available here on the CYSF web site.

To register for a class:  http://www.wasrc.org/clinicregistration  - find the clinic location and date you like, then click on the Action icon on the right-hand side.  Fill out the registration information and click "enroll".  Payment must be made on the last day of the clinic upon completion.  Make checks payable to "District 5".

Parent Referee Training

Parent Referee Training is given prior to the beginning of the season on at least two occasions. Each team needs a representative trained at one of the scheduled sessions. U6 to U8 Parent Referees will be required for our micro-size games. Each team should have at least one volunteer to referee the matches. Emphasis will be on safety, fun, and learning the game.
